Common Issues

Fix common setup, generation, image, page, and batch problems.

Common Issues

This troubleshooting guide helps WordPress users fix common AI Generator setup, content generation, image, page, credit, and batch workflow issues.

API Key is not configured

Go to AI Generator > Settings and paste your API Key. Save the settings, then check the dashboard widget again.

Connection failed

Check that:

  • The API Key was copied correctly.
  • Your WordPress site can make outbound HTTPS requests.
  • Security plugins or server firewalls are not blocking requests to wpthemoon.com.

Not enough credits

Add more credits on wpthemoon.com. Then refresh the dashboard widget or reload the WordPress editor.

Generation stopped or returned partial content

This can happen because of network timeouts, server restrictions, or browser interruption.

Try again with a shorter prompt or keyword. For article generation, keep any usable partial intent analysis and regenerate the article.

Article was not inserted

Confirm that you are editing a WordPress post, not a page. The Article Generator panel is intended for posts.

If the generated content could not be converted into blocks, try generating again or simplifying the topic.

Featured image cannot be applied

Save the draft first. WordPress needs a saved post before the plugin can attach an image from the media library.

Also confirm that your user account can upload media and edit the post.

Page generated as HTML blocks

Some complex page sections may become HTML blocks instead of native Gutenberg blocks.

You can edit those HTML blocks directly, rebuild the section manually, or regenerate with a simpler page brief.

Batch generation partially failed

Use the retry option for failed keywords. If the batch stopped because of credits, add credits first and then resume unprocessed keywords.

Before contacting support

  • Confirm your API Key is saved.
  • Refresh your credits display.
  • Try the action again with a shorter keyword, prompt, or page brief.
  • Check whether the issue happens on one post or across the site.
  • Note the WordPress version, PHP version, and plugin version.

FAQ

Why do some issues only happen in the editor?

The editor depends on your browser, WordPress permissions, and site configuration. A plugin or security rule can affect editor actions without affecting the dashboard.

Why does image application require a saved post?

WordPress needs a post ID before media can be attached and set as the featured image.

Should I retry after every failure?

Retry temporary failures. For repeated validation or permission failures, fix the setup first.
